HOW IS THE G4 INSTALLED?

The S3LIT (Selit) Competition G4 Stock is the culmination of years of product development and use in actual PCC competitions by the designer and other competition shooters.  The G4 was designed and refined with the competition shooter in mind, paying particular attention to Comfort, Repeatability and Speed when mounting your PCC for that faster and more accurate first shot.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Remove contents from packaging and ensure that all set screws are present in the mounting location on the stock body.  Some set screws may have dislodged during shipping.

  2. At this time, ensure that your firearm is unloaded and safe to handle and the buffer tube guide rail is clean and free of any burrs.

  3. Loosen the set screws on the G4 enough to mount on to the buffer tube rail. It is not necessary to remove the cheek riser to install the G4.  Mount the G4 to the rail / guide on the buffer tube, approximating your length of pull (LOP).  Tighten only enough to allow for you to adjust the LOP.  Note: To determine your LOP, measure from the inner fold of your elbow to the trigger finger in the imaginary “firing” position.  It is suggested that you deduct half inch from the indicated LOP.  Start from there.

  4. Adjust the stock to the initial LOP.  Measure from the end of the butt stock to the trigger location then slightly tighten set screws to allow for you to try out the adjusted stock.  Mount your PCC (in a safe direction) several times and make fine adjustments until you are satisfied with the adjusted LOP.  Remember to loosen set screws before making any adjustment and slightly tighten before verifying adjustments.

  5. Once LOP is determined, remove one set screw at a time, apply a small amount of Loctite to the set screw.  Once all set screws are in place, apply approximately 12 to 15 Inch-Pound of pressure (in-lb) to each set screw alternating from left side to right side.  If you do not have a torque wrench, 12-15 in-lb of pressure using the supplied allen key feels like a pinch / pressure on your fingers.  The Allen key will not move any further. The G4 is machined from 6061 aluminum.  Do not over tighten as you could potentially strip the thread on the stock body.

  6. Turn your optics on and mount the PCC in a safe direction.  Make the necessary adjustments to the cheek riser to where you see the dot on your optics.  Once you are satisfied with the adjustment, tighten the four Truss Screws.  Although the Truss Screw is Phillips type, I find that using a flat screw driver can torque the screw better. There is no need to apply Loctite to the Truss Screws, unless it makes you feel better.  If you intend to apply Loctite, it is suggested that you remove one screw at a time so as not to lose set adjustment.

  7. One last piece of advice…check the set screws once in a while to ensure proper grip on the buffer tube guide rail.  The supplied set screws are cone type (pointed) and are designed to partially sink into the buffer tube guide rail ensuring proper grip.

Caring for the G4 Competition Stock.  The G4 is machined from 6061 aluminum.  Take care not to over tighten set screws.  The G4 is finished in Cerakote and needs only to be wiped down using any mild cleaning solution you would generally use on a firearm.  Cerakote is a very durable finish but note that it is not "scratch proof".  Dipping the G4 Stock in any chemical solution for an extended period of time may cause the Loctite to degrade.  Should this occur, repeat installation instruction #5 and clean the screws and threads before applying Loctite.
